Product Installation Instructions for 74mm Piston and Ring Set

Tools Required:

1. Socket Wrench Set: For removing and installing engine components.

3. Piston Ring Compressor: To properly install the piston rings into the cylinder.

7. Pliers: For removing any circlips or retaining rings.

9. Clean Rags: For cleaning surfaces and removing debris.
10. Engine Assembly Lube: To lubricate moving parts during installation.

Installation Steps:

1. Preparation:

   • Ensure the motorcycle is on a stable workbench or stand.
   • Disconnect the battery and remove any necessary body panels to access the engine.

2. Engine Disassembly:

   • Remove the exhaust and intake components as necessary.
   • Drain the engine oil and coolant if applicable.
   • Remove the cylinder head and cylinder to access the old piston and rings.

3. Old Piston Removal:

   • Carefully detach the piston from the connecting rod by removing the wrist pin.
   • Dispose of the old piston and rings properly.

4. Piston Ring Installation:

   • Use a piston ring compressor to install the new rings onto the piston.
   • Make sure the rings are oriented correctly according to manufacturer specifications.

5. New Piston Installation:

   • Apply engine assembly lube to the new piston and rings.
   • Insert the new piston into the cylinder, ensuring that it is seated correctly.

6. Reassembly:

   • Reattach the connecting rod to the piston with the wrist pin.

   • Check all bolts and nuts for proper torque specifications.
   • Refill engine oil and coolant.
   • Reattach any other components removed during disassembly.

8. Testing:

   • Reconnect the battery.
   • Start the engine and monitor for any unusual sounds or leaks.
