Outboard Motor Fuel Filter Strainer Installation Instructions

Tools Required:

• Fuel Line Wrench (for easier removal of fuel lines)

Installation Steps:

1. Safety First:

   • Before starting, ensure the outboard motor is turned off and disconnect the battery to prevent any accidental starts during installation.

2. Prepare the Work Area:

   • Clear the area around the outboard motor to have ample working space. Place a container beneath the fuel line to catch any spills.

3. Remove the Old Filter Strainer:

   • Use the fuel line wrench to carefully disconnect the fuel lines attached to the old filter strainer. Take precautions to avoid fuel spills.
   • Remove any mounting bolts using the socket wrench and take out the old filter strainer from its housing.

   • Position the new fuel filter strainer (compatible with part numbers 6BG-13915-00 and 6BG-13915-01) into the housing.
   • Secure it in place using the mounting bolts, tightening them with the socket wrench to ensure it’s firmly attached.

6. Reconnect the Fuel Lines:

   • Reattach the fuel lines to the new filter strainer. Make sure they are connected securely to prevent any leaks.

7. Double-Check Connections:

   • Inspect all connections for tightness and ensure that there are no kinks or damages in the fuel lines.

8. Reconnect the Battery:

   • Once everything is securely in place, reconnect the battery to the outboard motor.

9. Test the Installation:

   • Start the outboard motor and let it run for a few minutes. Check for any leaks around the new filter strainer and fuel lines.

10. Final Check:
