Installation Instructions for 4 Piece Rear Suspension Shock Absorber Bushing Rubber Kit

Tools Needed:

1. Socket Wrench Set
2. Torque Wrench
3. Jack and Jack Stands
4. Rubber Hammer or Mallet
5. Pry Bar
6. Screwdrivers (Flathead and Phillips)
7. Gloves (to protect hands)
8. Safety Goggles (to protect eyes)
9. Lubricant (optional, for easier installation)

Installation Steps:

1. Safety First: Make sure the vehicle is parked on a flat surface. Engage the parking brake and place wheel chocks behind the front wheels to prevent rolling.

2. Raise the Vehicle: Use the jack to lift the rear of the vehicle. Secure it on jack stands to ensure stability while you work.

3. Remove Old Bushings:

   • Locate the rear suspension shock absorber assembly.
   • Use the socket wrench to remove the bolts securing the shock absorber to the rear axle and chassis.
   • Depending on the design, you may need a pry bar to help ease out the old bushings. Be cautious not to damage surrounding components.

4. Install New Bushings:

   • Take the new rubber bushings from the kit and apply a light coating of lubricant (if desired) to ease installation.
   • Position the new bushings into the shock absorber assembly.
   • Ensure they are seated properly and aligned with the holes for the bolts.

5. Reinstall Shock Absorbere:

   • Align the shock absorber with the mounting points on the rear axle and chassis.
   • Insert the bolts and hand tighten them first.
   • Use the torque wrench to tighten the bolts to the manufacturer’s specifications. (Refer to your vehicle’s service manual for exact torque settings.)

6. Lower the Vehicle: Carefully remove the jack stands and lower your vehicle back to the ground with the jack.

7. Final Checks: Once the vehicle is back on the ground, visually inspect the installation to ensure everything is secure.

8. Test Drive: Take a short drive to assess the performance of the newly installed bushings. Pay attention to any unusual noises or vibrations.
