Installation Instructions for Spark Plug RC12YC 992304

Compatible with: Small Single Cylinder Overhead Valve (OHV) Engines in garden tools and lawn mowers.

Tools Required:

1. Socket Wrench: A socket wrench with the appropriate size socket for your spark plug (typically 13/16" or 5/8").
2. Spark Plug Gap Tool: To measure and adjust the gap of the spark plug if necessary.
3. Torque Wrench: To ensure the spark plug is tightened to the manufacturer's recommended torque specifications.
4. Screwdriver (if needed): To remove any engine covers or components blocking access to the spark plug.
5. Gloves: To protect your hands while handling the spark plug and engine components.
6. Clean Cloth: For cleaning the area around the spark plug before removal and installation.

Installation Steps:

1. Preparation:

   • Ensure the engine is turned off and cool to prevent burns.
   • Disconnect the spark plug wire to avoid accidental ignition.

2. Accessing the Spark Plug:

   • If necessary, remove any engine covers or components to access the spark plug.
   • Use a clean cloth to wipe the area around the spark plug to prevent debris from falling into the engine.

3. Removing the Old Spark Plug:

   • Use a socket wrench to unscrew the old spark plug by turning it counterclockwise.
   • Carefully remove the old spark plug from the engine.

4. Checking the Gap:

   • Use a spark plug gap tool to check the gap of the new spark plug.
   • Adjust the gap to the manufacturer’s specifications if necessary.

5. Installing the New Spark Plug:

   • Carefully thread the new spark plug into the engine by hand to avoid cross-threading.
   • Once finger-tight, use the socket wrench to tighten it. Then, use a torque wrench to apply the manufacturer’s recommended torque.

6. Reconnecting:

   • Reattach any engine covers or components that were removed.
   • Reconnect the spark plug wire securely.

7. Final Checks:

   • Ensure all tools are removed from the engine area.
   • Start the engine to check the performance.
