Product Installation Instructions for Compatible Rear Brake Pads

Tools Required:

1. Socket Set:

   • A set of sockets (metric and/or SAE) to remove the brake caliper bolts.

2. Torque Wrench:

   • For proper reinstallation of caliper bolts according to manufacturer specifications.

3. Ratchet Wrench:

   • To fasten or loosen the bolts conveniently.

4. Piston Compression Tool (or C-clamp):

   • To compress the brake caliper piston for easier installation of new brake pads.

5. Brake Cleaner:

   • To clean the brake components before installation.

6. Lint-free Cloth:

   • For cleaning and handling brake parts.

7. Protective Gloves:

   • To protect your hands from debris and brake dust.

8. Screwdriver (Flathead & Phillips):

   • For any additional panel or cover removals that may be necessary.

9. Safety Glasses:

   • To protect your eyes while working with brake components.

Installation Steps:

1. Preparation:

   • Make sure your vehicle is on a flat surface and securely lifted using a jack and jack stands.
   • Remove the wheel to access the rear brake assembly.

2. Remove Old Brake Pads:

   • Use the socket and ratchet to remove the caliper bolts.
   • Carefully slide the caliper off the rotor and support it to avoid straining the brake line.
   • Remove the old brake pads from the caliper bracket.

3. Compress the Piston:

   • Use the brake caliper compression tool or a C-clamp to gently compress the piston back into the caliper housing.

4. Clean the Brake Assembly:

   • Clean the brake rotor and caliper using brake cleaner and a lint-free cloth to remove dirt and debris.

5. Install New Brake Pads:

   • Place the new compatible rear brake pads in the caliper bracket ensuring they are properly seated.

6. Reinstall the Caliper:

   • Slide the caliper over the new brake pads and rotor.
   • Reattach the caliper bolts using the socket and ratchet. Be sure to tighten them according to the manufacturer’s torque specifications using a torque wrench.

7. Reinstall the Wheel:

   • Place the wheel back onto the hub and hand-tighten the slug nuts.
   • Lower the vehicle off the jack stands and fully tighten the lug nuts in a star pattern.

8. Test the Brake System:

   • Before driving, pump the brake pedal a few times to ensure that the brake pads are seated correctly and the brake feel is firm.

9. Final Check:

   • Inspect all components to ensure everything is in place and secure. Check for any unusual noise when the vehicle is in operation.
