Installation Steps:
Prepare Your Motorcycle:
Ensure the engine is turned off and cooled down before starting the installation.
Locate the Oil Filter:
Find the oil filter in your motorcycle's engine compartment. Refer to your owner's manual if necessary.
Drain the Oil:
Use the drip pan to catch any oil that may spill when removing the old filter. You may want to drain the oil from the engine completely if it's due for a change.
Remove the Old Oil Filter:
Use the wrench or oil filter wrench to loosen and remove the old oil filter. Be cautious, as it may still contain some oil.
Prepare the New Oil Filter:
Apply a small amount of oil to the rubber gasket on the new filter. This helps create a better seal and makes it easier to remove during the next oil change.
Install the New Oil Filter:
Screw the new oil filter into place by hand. Tighten it according to the manufacturer's specifications, but avoid over-tightening.
Refill with Oil:
Using the funnel, refill the engine with the appropriate type and amount of oil as specified in your owner’s manual.
Check for Leaks:
Start the engine and let it run for a few minutes. Check the area around the new oil filter for any leaks.
Dispose of Old Oil and Filter Properly:
Take the old oil and filter to an appropriate recycling center.
