Tools Required:

1. Socket wrench set
2. Torque wrench
3. Screwdriver set (both flathead and Phillips)
4. Pliers
5. Brake cleaner
6. Shop rags or cloth
7. Anti-seize lubricant (optional)

Installation Steps:

1. Preparation:

   • Ensure the motorcycle is parked on a level surface.
   • Turn off the engine and remove the key.
   • Wear safety glasses and gloves for protection.

2. Remove the Wheel:

   • Use the socket wrench to loosen and remove the bolts securing the wheel.
   • Carefully take off the wheel and set it aside on a soft surface to avoid scratches.

3. Remove Old Brake Pads:

   • Locate the brake pads and use the appropriate screwdriver to remove any retaining screws.
   • Take out the old brake pads and inspect the brake drum or rotor for wear.

4. Clean the Area:

   • Use brake cleaner to wipe down the brake drum or rotor, ensuring any debris or dust is removed.
   • Use shop rags to clean the surrounding area as well.

5. Install New Brake Pads:

   • Place the new brake pads in the correct position, ensuring they are aligned properly.
   • Secure the brake pads in place using the retaining screws, tightening them to the manufacturer's specifications with a torque wrench.

6. Reinstall the Wheel:

   • Position the wheel back onto the motorcycle.
   • Hand-tighten the bolts initially, then use the socket wrench to securely fasten the bolts in a crisscross pattern to ensure even pressure.

7. Check Brake Operation:

   • Once the wheel is reinstalled, pump the brake lever a few times to seat the new brake pads properly.
   • Make sure that the brakes engage smoothly and effectively.

8. Final Check:

   • Before taking your motorcycle for a ride, check all fasteners and ensure everything is secure.
   • Test the brakes at low speed to confirm the installation has been successful.

9. Dispose of Old Pads:

   • Dispose of the old brake pads according to local regulations.
