Remove the Wheel: If necessary, remove the front or rear wheel to access the brake caliper. Use the socket wrench to loosen and remove the wheel bolts.
Access the Brake Caliper: Locate the brake caliper and use the socket wrench to remove the bolts securing it to the bracket. Carefully slide the caliper off the rotor.
Remove Old Brake Pads: Once the caliper is off, remove the old brake pads from the caliper. If there are retaining clips, use pliers to carefully remove them.
Clean the Components: Use brake cleaner and rags to thoroughly clean the caliper and other components. Ensure no debris or old grease remains.
Install New Brake Pads: Place the new brake pads into the caliper in the same position as the old ones. Make sure they are seated properly.
Reattach the Caliper: Carefully slide the caliper back onto the rotor. Secure it in place by tightening the bolts using the torque wrench to the manufacturer’s specifications.
Reinstall the Wheel: If you remove it, reattach the wheel and tighten the bolts securely.
Test Brake Functionality: Before riding, pump the brake lever to ensure the pads are seated correctly and the brakes respond appropriately.
